Legal Information

Last updated: 3 November 2026.

This page contains the legal information for this website and for the training courses, workshops and related educational services offered through it by sparklyx (referred to on this page as "we", "us" or "our"). It explains who operates the site, what the site is for, how you may use it, what you may and may not do with its content, and how disputes are handled. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Payment and Refund Policy, which together form a single set of documents governing your use of this website.

1. Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role

This website is owned and operated by sparklyx. We act as a commercial provider of specialised training in live production environments. That training covers multi-camera switching, live broadcasting technique, real-time video operation, media feed management, live signal handling, content distribution, camera work and the creation of reliable, high-quality feeds for news programmes, television broadcasting and streaming output.

Our role is that of an education and training provider. We design, sell and deliver courses, and we operate this website as the shopfront through which those courses are described, booked and supported. We are not a broadcaster, a channel operator, a programme-maker of record, a licensing authority or a certification body, and nothing on this website should be read as an offer to act in any of those capacities on your behalf. Where a course leads to a certificate of attendance or completion, that document records participation in our training only; it is not a regulated qualification unless a specific course page states otherwise.

When you browse this website, request information or enrol on a course, your contractual counterparty is sparklyx, unless a separate written agreement signed by an authorised representative of the company expressly states otherwise. This page is published so that you can identify the operator of the site, verify its standing, and understand the rules that apply before you commit to a purchase.

2. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers, Licences and Responsible Representatives

sparklyx is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. The company is registered with Companies House, the United Kingdom registrar of companies, and is registered for value added tax with HM Revenue and Customs. The non-contact legal identifiers of the company are set out below and are published in line with the Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, as they apply in the United Kingdom.

  • Company Registration Number: 02867466
  • Country of registration: England and Wales
  • VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923

No specific operational licence is required in the United Kingdom for the type of commercial training we provide. Where any individual course involves premises, broadcast equipment or radio spectrum use, any necessary permission is obtained by the venue or the equipment operator for the duration of that course, and we state any additional requirements on the relevant course page.

The persons responsible for the company are its directors. Their names, correspondence service address and appointment history are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection on the register. We do not publish director names on this page, but where a director's name appears in any business communication issued on behalf of the company, the names of all directors are made available on request in accordance with the disclosure rules described above.

2.1 Statutory details at a glance

Company Name: sparklyx | Company Registration Number: 02867466 | Place of Registration: England and Wales | VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923 | Registered Office: Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP | Email: bookings@nmedia.tv | Telephone: +44 20 3925 3929

If you believe any of the details above are inaccurate or have changed, please tell us using the contact route described in section 10 so that we can correct the record promptly.

3. Registered Office and Contact Details

The registered office of sparklyx is: Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. This is a geographical business address in the United Kingdom and not a post office box. Formal correspondence, legal notices, service of documents and complaints in writing may be sent there.

You can contact us in the following ways:

  • By email at bookings@nmedia.tv, which is monitored during normal UK office hours.
  • By telephone on +44 20 3925 3929, which is staffed during normal UK office hours. Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes.
  • Through the contact form on the Contacts page of this website, which is suitable for course enquiries, booking questions, technical support requests and general correspondence.

Where the law requires us to give you information in writing, we normally do so by email to the address you provide, because it is the fastest and most reliable channel. It is your responsibility to keep your email address and telephone number up to date so that important messages reach you. If your details change, please update them or tell us promptly, so that we can keep our records accurate.

4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website

This website exists to describe our training portfolio, explain how our courses are delivered, enable bookings and payments, and provide supporting material to delegates before, during and after a course. The subject matter is deliberately practical: control room operations, multi-camera production workflows, live signal management, feed distribution, broadcast standards, streaming techniques, camera operation and the discipline required to keep a live transmission on air.

The intended audience includes media professionals, aspiring broadcasters, production technicians, graduates and students of film, television and media studies, corporate communications teams, and organisations that run live events or produce content continuously. Content is written for users in the United Kingdom and, where relevant, for international delegates joining online sessions. Because broadcast practice differs between jurisdictions, you remain responsible for checking that any technique, equipment configuration or operating procedure you learn with us complies with the rules, licensing conditions and health and safety requirements that apply where you work.

Course descriptions, sample schedules, equipment lists and learning outcomes are provided for information. They describe our intended approach at the time of publication and may be refined to reflect changes in technology, venue availability or industry practice.

5. Access To and Acceptable Use of the Website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You are responsible for the equipment, software and internet connection you use to access it, and for ensuring that anyone who accesses the site using your device or credentials complies with these rules.

When using this website, you must not:

  • copy, scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, course material, delegate lists or pricing data, whether manually or by automated means;
  • introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or any other harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site, or bypass any security or access-control measure;
  • use the site in a way that damages its availability, integrity or performance, or that interferes with other visitors' use of it;
  • impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation, or submit false booking or identity information;
  • use our name, branding, course material or delegate platform to advertise, promote or sell anything without our prior written consent; or
  • use the site for any purpose that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening or otherwise objectionable.

We may suspend, restrict or withdraw access to this website, or to any delegate platform, in whole or in part, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, where we are required to do so by law, or where we need to protect the security and integrity of our systems. Where a suspension affects a confirmed booking, we will handle the consequences in line with our Terms and Conditions and Payment and Refund Policy.

You are responsible for keeping any login details, booking references or access codes confidential and must tell us immediately if you think they have been compromised. We may suspend an account if we believe its credentials are being used without authority.

6. Course Enrolment, Bookings, Fees and Cancellation Rights

Places on our courses are allocated on receipt of a completed booking and, where applicable, cleared payment. The essential characteristics of each course, the total price including any applicable tax, the delivery format, the start date, and any prerequisites are displayed before you confirm a booking. You should review them carefully, because you will be bound by the booking you confirm.

Where you buy as a consumer at a distance, you generally have a statutory right to cancel within fourteen days of concluding the contract. Where a course is delivered in a single session or begins during the cancellation period at your express request, the law may reduce or extinguish that right. Full details, including how to cancel, the effect of cancellation on fees already paid, transfer and substitution rules, non-attendance, and the circumstances in which we may reschedule or cancel a course, are set out in our Terms and Conditions and in our Payment and Refund Policy. Where a course is cancelled by us, delegates are offered a transfer to another date or a refund of the course fee.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. We may change prices and course dates for future bookings, but changes will never affect a booking you have already confirmed except where a genuine error is corrected and we notify you promptly, allowing you to cancel without penalty if you do not accept the revised price.

7. Ownership and Permitted Use of Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property

All material on this website, including text, course descriptions, curricula, slide decks, handouts, diagrams, signal flow charts, checklists, assessment material, audio and video recordings, photographs, graphics and the layout and design of the site, is owned by sparklyx or is used under licence, and is protected by copyright, database rights, design rights and, where applicable, trademark law.

You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference and for internal training purposes within your own organisation, provided that all copyright notices remain intact. You must not, without our prior written permission:

  • reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, rent, sub-licence or commercially exploit any part of our course material;
  • use our material to create a competing training product or to deliver training to third parties for a fee;
  • systematically extract or re-utilise substantial parts of the content, including for the purposes of machine learning or automated content generation; or
  • remove, obscure or alter any trade mark, attribution or proprietary notice.

Our name, logo and any associated wordmarks or device marks are our trade marks or those of our licensors. Nothing on this website grants you a licence to use them except with our prior written consent or as permitted by law. Recording, filming, streaming or broadcasting any part of a course is not permitted without our written authorisation. Where you submit feedback, questions or comments, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that material to improve and promote our training, provided we do not identify you publicly without your consent.

8. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that information on this website is accurate and up to date when it is published. Training content in this field evolves quickly, however, so technical details, equipment specifications, software interfaces and industry practices can change between publication and your course date. Course material is provided for general training and professional development purposes and is not a substitute for your own site-specific procedures, risk assessments, equipment manuals or employer instructions.

We aim to keep this website available, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, security updates, hosting failures and events outside our reasonable control may interrupt availability. We may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, and we do not guarantee that any particular feature, document or online resource will remain available indefinitely.

Nothing in this legal information page excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 49 to 52 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where you deal with us as a consumer, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website;
  • we are not liable for decisions you take, or fail to take, on the basis of general training content, or for the way you apply techniques in your own production environment;
  • our total liability arising out of or in connection with any course booking is limited to the fees paid by you for that course; and
  • we are not responsible for the content, availability or security of third-party websites, platforms, software or services that we do not control.

If you are a consumer, these limitations apply only to the extent that they are fair and reasonable in the circumstances, and they do not affect your statutory rights.

9. External Links and Third-Party Content

This website may refer to third-party products, equipment, software, standards bodies, industry publications, venues or suppliers, and may contain links to external websites. Such references are provided for information and convenience only. They do not amount to an endorsement, and we do not control, monitor or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices of any external site.

When you follow a link away from this website, you leave our environment and become subject to the terms and policies of the destination site. You should read those terms before relying on anything you find there or providing personal information. If you believe that content we have linked to is unlawful, inaccurate or infringes your rights, please tell us using the contact route in section 10 and we will review the link promptly.

Any comments, testimonials, forum contributions or third-party material displayed on the site (where such features are enabled) express the views of their authors and not necessarily ours. We reserve the right to edit, move or remove any such material that we consider unlawful, misleading, offensive or otherwise unsuitable.

10. Privacy, Cookies and Electronic Communications

We process personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse this site, enquire about a course or make a booking, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you.

As a data subject you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to erasure in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability where processing is based on consent or contract, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom supervisory authority for data protection.

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function, for security and for remembering your consent choices. Non-essential cookies, such as analytics cookies, are only set with your consent, which you can give, refuse or withdraw at any time through the site-wide cookie banner or your browser settings. Our Cookie Policy lists the categories of cookies we use, their purposes and their typical retention periods.

We may contact you about a booking, a course you have purchased or a related administrative matter, because that is necessary to perform our contract with you. Marketing messages are sent only where we have a lawful basis to do so, and every marketing message includes a simple way to opt out.

11. Security and Fraud Awareness

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this website and the data we hold, including access controls, encryption in transit and routine monitoring. No system is completely secure, however, and you should take sensible precautions of your own, including using up-to-date software and strong, unique passwords.

Please be alert to fraudulent communications that misuse our name. We will never ask you to change bank details, pay a course fee to a personal account, or share a password, one-time code or full card number by email or telephone. If you receive a message that appears to come from us and asks for any of these things, do not respond to it; contact us first using the details in section 3 (or the statutory summary at section 2.1) so that we can verify whether it is genuine.

12. Accessibility, Complaints and Dispute Resolution

We want our website and our courses to be usable by as many people as possible. If you need information in an alternative format, or require a reasonable adjustment to attend a course, please contact us before your course date so that we can discuss what is possible, including accessible venues, captioning, printed material in larger type, or additional breaks.

If something goes wrong, please tell us first. Complaints should be sent using the contact route in section 3, with your booking reference and a short description of the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to provide a substantive response within a reasonable period, normally within ten working days. If we need longer, we will explain why and keep you updated.

We are not currently obliged to participate in an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedure and we do not nominate an ADR provider for consumer disputes. This does not affect your right to bring a claim before a court, or to seek advice from Citizens Advice, Trading Standards or another advice service in the United Kingdom.

13. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Rights

These legal notices and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with your use of this website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute or claim.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and nothing in this page removes or reduces any mandatory consumer protection rights you enjoy under the law of your habitual residence. If you are a business customer, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you raise the matter with us directly so that we have a proper opportunity to resolve it. We will always try to settle disagreements through honest discussion. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, the applicable law and courts described above will apply, together with any rights you have under consumer legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, where applicable, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

14. Contact Route, Changes to This Page and Last-Updated Date

Questions about this page, requests for further information about the company, and formal notices should be directed to bookings@nmedia.tv, or to +44 20 3925 3929 during normal UK office hours, or by post to Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. You may also use the contact form on the Contacts page of this website. Please quote any booking reference you have so that we can deal with your enquiry quickly.

We review this page regularly and may update it to reflect changes in the law, in our business practices, in the services we provide or in the way our website operates. The current version is the one published on this page. Where a change is significant, we will highlight it on this page and, where appropriate, notify registered delegates by email. Continued use of the website after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised information.
